What day/time is the event?
A: Global Youth Service Day for Franklin County Communities will be taking place on April 26th, 2025. Service Projects: 10:00-12:00; Lunch 12:00-1:00. Please arrive ON TIME to you the address of where you will be serving.
What is the address for the Service Project? Where should I be dropped off?
A: It depends on which project you register for. Once you select the project through registration, a subsequent email will be sent to you with address and additional information for the day!
What age do participants need to be?
A: Global Youth Service Day is a YOUTH participation event. Youth age 11( turning 12 in 2025) to 18 are welcome to participate.
Can my younger sibling join in too?
A: No. Unfortunately, given the nature of the work, the minimum age is turning 12. We hope your siblings will join us at a future event!
Can Adults join in too?
A: Adults are welcome to join in a supervising and assisting role! On the registration form, please indicate where you would like to best assist.
Can youth ministry groups, troops, or friend groups participate?
A. Absolutely! Service is always fun with friends! Have each member of your group sign up on the registration form. We need that registration completed for EACH individual. For other group questions, please email raleighjustserve@gmail.com
Do I have to belong to a church or group to participate?
A. Absolutely Not! Come join! You may even make a friend!
Does this count for service hours?
A. YES! Bring the forms and we will sign them off!
How do I sign up?
A. Click on the REGISTER Button on this site and fill out the form.
Do you provide transportation to and from the event and projects?
A. No. Unfortunately, you must arrange your own transportation to and from the cookout and projects. If attending with a group, church, or friends, maybe see if you can arrange some sort of ride share!
What type of service will be taking place?
A. Several projects will be taking place simultaneously at several locations. Pick one that suits your interest! Projects include:
Building Garden Boxes
Sprucing up the Franklin County Interfaith Council Building
Assembling Food Boxes at a Journey Ministry Food Pantry
Planting in the Giving Garden at Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.
Creating a Meditation/Gathering Garden at St. Matthias Church.
Cleaning windowns at St. Matthias Church.

12. What is Global Youth Serve Day?
A: Global Youth Service Day is the longest running and LARGEST organized Youth Service event. Local service events take place April 25-27, 2025 all around the world. GYSD asks youth to work together for the common good, locally. For more information, visit https://ysa.org/campaigns/gysd/
